Campus is Closed, but Our Cadets Carry On...

2020欧洲杯平台Greetings from St Joes. On Saturday, July 11, the very impressive and accomplished Class of 2020 proudly received their diplomas with Dr Fitzgerald presiding over the ceremony. It was a lovely event.

2020欧洲杯平台Simultaneous to the planning for graduation, the SJ leadership team has also been hard at work finalizing multiple reopening plans for the 2020-2021 academic year. At this moment, the official State of CT Reopening Plan calls for a full return to school and we all know that would be the preferred approach. That said, we also know that COVID-19 is very unpredictable, and how we return to school in September will be based entirely upon the circumstances at the time and sound medical guidance from the CDC and our local Department of Health. Governor Lamont has also announced that he will provide additional school reopening guidance in mid-August.

In the interest of being properly prepared, we have developed three unique Reopening Plans. Each plan includes an opportunity for students to have live daily interaction with their teachers. This scenario-planning approach will allow us to be institutionally fluid and nimble should circumstances and medical guidance change unexpectedly. Our top priority is to honor our commitment to properly engage and skillfully educate our students in a safe and nurturing environment. We intend to honor that St Joes covenant with your family.

2020欧洲杯平台Below are general descriptions of our three Re-Opening Plans. The descriptions are intentionally brief and not intended to answer all of your specific reopening questions. We will provide more specificity for each plan in the coming weeks and our informational outreach to your family will also include some video conferencing opportunities and video presentations explaining how the plans will be implemented on Campus – both inside and outside of the building.

Please be sure to participate in our brief survey (forms are on the right) and join us for an SJ Family Virtual Town Hall Meeting on August 6 at 6:30 p.m . Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Our unwavering faith and togetherness will guide us through this challenging time.

In Faith and Fellowship,
David J Klein, President
